Interview with Conor Souhrada

  1. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  2. A: I can bring a very unique element to any song. I like adding "never heard before" elements to a song!

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: My favorite thing about my job is that I get to work with some incredible artists, and help them get their works to a point they are happy with and that will bring them success!

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: A mix you'll get the best of both worlds! I have a good collection of both and would use either depending on the project

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: I personally really musicians/producers that are pushing the boundaries. Experimental producers such as Flying Lotus, Thriftworks, Squarepusher, and Amon Tobin just to name a few. I also really enjoy music and bands that are mixing genres, such as MGMT, Passion Pit, Wax tailor, Fitz and the Tantrums and The Naked and Famous. The list goes on and on! I also really enjoy edm music, i love everything from electro house to Trap. And as far as hip hop goes love it as well!

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: The most common type of work I do for my clients ranges a lot from person to person. I do a lot of production work as far as writing songs, playing the instruments and making beats. I also get a lot of sound design work. As we move into modern music a lot of bands are looking to infuse synths and other sound design elements into their production and I went to school for that. Of course I do a lot of mixing and mastering as well. I also play session bass/guitar as well as piano/synths in multiple groups and projects.
