As a producer for over 10 Years, My music under the alias of Rico, takes you straight to the hard hitting, uplifting, and unifying main stage. This style has led me to receive international DJ support from artists like Tiesto, DJs From Mars, Ultra Music Festival Resident Mykris and more! With releases on Disco Fries Label Liftoff Recordings!

I now want to share my knowledge and experience in the studio with others! By producing, mixing, and mastering, I want to help my clients bring their artistic vision to life, connecting the dots where they can benefit from professional help.

Life in the studio is my passion! To show how thankful I am that I get to work with music for a living, I work on all my clients projects with the care and effort it deserves. With full transparency, I will work quickly and efficiently so my clients will have a project that they love and are proud of!

Interview with Rico

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: A misconception I may get is that the care and quality in my work is not there because my pricing is low. That is not true at all. I have been producing and continuing to learn new techniques for over a decade. I have mentors that are some of the best engineers in the world, with some of the biggest credits in Europe. It is only recently that I began my journey on soundbetter. At the moment I care more about growing a community of clients and collaborators. I am doing this at a reasonable price, to show that I just want to be surrounded by great music projects and great people!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The favorite thing i like to bring to a song is fusion. I like to blend the elements of genres into each other in a way that sounds fresh to the ears. In today's world we have access to music from every genre, of every decade. We all have different inspirations. I love to look for the next set of elements, that have not yet been combined for all to hear!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I really like Rick Beato. He has an incredible ear with so much knowledge behind the structure and theory of the top songs in the world. He inspires me to continue to learn more about the song writing process. In addition, I am super inspired by my mentor Slatin, who has taken my production skills to the next level. He has not only shown me how to do things correctly in the mixing and mastering process, but has shown me why it should be done that way.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: As a producer, I have different processes for different days. I like to use the weekends as days for inspiration and having fun starting new projects. I use the week days, as a way to complete works in progress. When working with clients. I like to work on their project as soon as possible so I have something to show and take in feedback. I then get right to making those adjustments, to continue the process until the client is 100% satisfied.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have such a fun and interactive studio! I have my production computer, with multiple speakers to check my songs on, alongside studio headphones. I also have a pioneer DJ setup with automatic lights that work with the music and 4 cameras. This is the production that goes into my weekly livestream! It is great to work in an environment where I can test out my projects, to an online audience in real time.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: At the moment, I mostly do the mixing and mastering for my clients. With some additional knowledge and experience, I have given my clients a fresh ear, so i can take their song to the finish line, while they can focus on producing more great music!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Some of the many artists I would like to work with include Porter Robinson, Skrillex, Fred Again, Gryffin, Calvin Harris. They are all living examples that there are no rules in music. They all break artistic and technical boundaries in way that makes their songs timeless. Their songs have such a high quality production to them, that every producer should stride for. I also love the various sub genres of rock including, pop punk, post hardcore, mid western emo, and indie. I would love to work with vocalist, and instrumentalists in this genre, and bring that sound to EDM.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The project I am most proud of is my first original release of 2024, titled Break My Rules. It was a collaboration with an amazing producer, Røn. Being from 2 different countries, we worked on the song via discord. We would send the project back and forth, giving each other feedback and encouragement. It was great combine both of our interests and inspirations in to 1 song. It then went on to release on Liftoff Recordings!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently finishing up some on my own original EDM works in progress which have already been approved to be signed by the record label. More info to come =)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Although I have some hardware synthesizers, I work much more quickly and efficiently with software synthesizers. I will sometimes use my SE-02 as a lead synth or to add some effects!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to work until I can I can deliver a song that they can be proud of!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Although I love creating music, the more I learn about the technical side, the more I also enjoy the mixing and mastering process. I love seeing how a song can be transformed!
