Paul is fantastic. Not only does he offer a tremndous amount of experience and skill but the dedication and passion he brings to a project is palpable. We've done two tracks with him up to now and hope to work with him more next year as we have been delighted with the results - best person we have worked with in the studio by far.

Not only is "Tipler" the go to for great indie guitar bands he's also a genius at electronic and world music I've worked with him on numerous albums and his mixes have led to BBC 6 music airplay and official Apple Music playlists!

I have had the pleasure of Tipler (Paul) recording and mixing several of my artists over the years and I can only give the highest of recommendations. It is a pleasure to work with him and he is highly knowledgeable and his experience speaks for itself with his lengthy list of artists worked with over his career. He guides the process from start to finish, without being pushy; but explaining what works and what doesn't and why; and really maximizes his talent, experience and ear for a great record. Tipler provides a value for money recording, mixing and mastering service

Paul has worked with Transglobal Underground in a whole number of capacities over the years, as engineer, co-producer, mixer and mastering engineer and we've always had total confidence in his abilities in each job. Paul has a great ability to keep people focussed on their direction, stepping in when they get lost and holding back when they know what they're doing. We've relied on him on a number of albums to take what we've done and add the extra power and clarity the mixes were missing. He's also patient, friendly and always keeps a good vibe going in the studio.

Paul produced, engineered and mixed several of the Idlewild records I played on and worked exceptionally hard at getting the best performances from all of us. At a time when we were a very young and overly excitable band he completely tightened our playing up whilst also making us very comfortable in a professional studio environment we were previously unaccustomed to as well as helping everyone get the best tones out of their equipment and really understand how to be "as one" with their instrument. A true pleasure to know and have worked with.

Paul mixed 6 very intense tracks I produced to a very clear sonic soundscape, with every instrument locked in its right place. A very pleasant experience and pleasure to work with.
    Very recommended !

Paul is an exceptional producer. He's one of few people I've worked with who can capture the emotion and raw energy into a take that you can still hear in the final mix. He's very encouraging to musicians, pushing to get their top performance. I also believe he gets best guitar sound I ever heard!

Paul's ability to shape sound and to enhance a recording is second-to-none. His skill at the mixing console is such that I feel my songs go up a level every time he mixes one of them. It's always fascinating to me to see how Paul's vision as a mix engineer melds with my own vision as a songwriter and recording artist to create something that's more than the sum of it's parts. Having seen and heard the results with my own ears, I now wouldn't want to entrust anyone else other than Paul with the task and responsiblity of mixing our tracks. He's also a really warm and amiable presence as a person

I had the pleasure recently of working with Paul who I was aware of due to his reputation for having contributed to numerous recordings by accomplished artists. Paul not only has great ears and cutting edge expertise in using modern recording techniques but he has also a lovely, calming personality and an ability to put artists at ease. I look forward very much to working with Paul in the future and heartily recommend him to others wanting to record in a professional and friendly environment.

Nation Records and majority of its artists went through the experienced and good natured Paul Tipler with his production skills.
Hard working and with a vision of the finished production in mind, it was a guaranteed professional result every time.
You know you were safe to get on to perform your best as the technical side was the best it could be.

It’s not just about hits, it’s if the tracks can be played on radio or any other platform years after, everything Tipler touched is still relevant and still rated.

I have worked with Paul for a few years, first with a rock band, live drums, high energy etc, the songs still stand up as great recordings today!

Recently we finished my debut solo album, an electro pop rock record. I am really pleased with it. It was just me, my guitar and some demos, yet he has elevated the songs to radio play quality.

Paul not only understands sound recording, providing excellent engineering, mixing and mastering skills, he’s also got a great ear for songs and knows how to add that extra bit of magic.

If you have a sonic vision - he will get you there!

I've worked with Paul on 3 albums over the last few years and would definitely do so in the future. His professionalism, empathy and endless patience make him an ideal person to work with in a studio environment.
Paul puts you right at ease with his northern humour, studio experience and deft skills at the mixing console. His detailed knowledge when using Logic Pro / Pro Tools are a joy to behold. Also, Unit 13 contains some wonderful amps and instruments and lots of pre amp valves and studio toys. Highly recommended.

I love working with Paul. He’s a straight up no nonsense Northerner and great company but he balances it with a great work ethic. If you want something doing really well and really quickly, he’s your man but he’s also diligent, empathetic and encouraging. When I’m standing behind the microphone feeling vulnerable, I have absolute trust in him getting the best out of my voice. He is passionate and knowledgeable about a wide variety of music, calmly capable and ace. He’s made Unit 13 a wonderful place to create.

Paul is a too music producer and a great person too. I have now been working with l him for the best part of five years and have since released two solo albums with my third coming out this year. Paul has one of the widest knowledge of musical styles and genres that I have come across. He also provides great understanding and care into every session that I have ever had with him, and really gets to know each song that you work on with him, whilst getting the best out of that song and what you want to achieve from it. Unit 13 studios is also a calm and peaceful place to work in. Great guy!
