Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Own what you like.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: The chorus from a Juno 60, Dimension D, Moog One, 335, massive speakers.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie "Rock/Psych/Electronic/??"
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Problem solving.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Depth. I believe that most any idea can be turned into something special, it might just need to be completely reworked.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Intention is #1, without it things end up uninspired. Once the bones of an idea are captured - whether it's a cool sound, loop, lyric - I like to tease out a basic song structure. Does this song have a bridge? Start on the chorus? I usually end up laying down mumble lyrics as the melody takes shape. Creative production + finalize lyrics, more creative production. Rough mix. Mix, Master. Never listen to it again.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Max Martin, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Quicy Jones, Mark Ronson, Shawn Everett
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Writing, re-working, recording, comping, editing, tuning, creative production, mixing.
