I'm a musician. I play guitar, piano and bass. I make Rap/Trap/Cloud Rap and Synthwave for the most but I also produce Pop or Indie Pop song.

Hi, I'm Vapormonkey and I love the '80s vibes. I always try to merge old sound with new wave and I always try to create a link between past and present.
I play guitar, piano and bass and I make different genre because I totally love music. So I make Rap/Trap/Cloud Rap and Synthwave for the most but I also produce Pop or Indie Pop song.
I've been producing since 2010 using Fruity Loops, my instrument, some virtual instrument and my fantasy.

A: Yes, I know Vapormonkey.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If you describe me your idea, I promise to you that you'll proud of my work. Keep working together.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My last project. "Chiusi nell'oceano" is a song I produce for my brother Dr. Vintage and a Brazilian singer Lorenza Junqueira. I'm proud of it because it's a fantastic pop song and because we connected Italy with Brazil. It sounds dope!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on my music and on my squad's music. We make different genres so I'm working on cloud rap, synthwave, trap, pop, soft rock and indie stuff.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for the cost and space but analog for the real sound. Analog because you hear that warmth that digital will never have.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Doing music all day for sure.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: No questions. They only tell me what they want and I make him proud of my work.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Thinking that if you make music with a PC you're not a real musician and that it's easy to do it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Which genre? Which mood? What instruments?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Describe to him what you're looking for. If you feel that music connection with him, so he's the one for you
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I hope there's current on it. So I would take my PC, a Gibson Les Paul, a Juno-106, amazing live monitor and a Marshall Amp. No food. Making music to the death.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been playing guitar since I was kid. I've played cover song. I started music production in 2010 I think. I writed a lot so I had to rap my lyrics on a beat. So I start producing. I spend more than half of my life making music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is vaporwave because I always try to create a link with the past, the '70s/'80s/'90s. I also I love its aesthetic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Can I dream? I would say Mike Dean. He's synthGod and I wish to produce with him on day, in the studio with all the magic stuff he has.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Reverb on master, nah, I'm joking. I think with layering you can do crazy stuff. You can use it to create a new instrument, new sound or to do parallel mixing with dry and wet tracks. Keep layering.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on cloud rap or trap music, synthwave and indie pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Fantasy. I switch from a genre to the other. From an happy to a dark sad mood.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always tro to create a dreamy mood. "I feel like I'm flying" that's what you will say. I bring the '80s sound like synth, drums or flangered, delayed and reverbed guitars. I always try to put one of this feature in my tracks.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually produce beat for my clients. I like to work together so they tell me the sound they want, genre and mood and I produce it.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I get inspired by client's request or by somthing I listened to or by my mood. So I start to write my main melody playing piano or guitar. After I add some extras like counter melody, pad and everything is needed. I finish the work adding an hot bassline and cool drum sounds.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is an Home Studio. So I have the PC with all the gear in it. I have an audio interface, Beyerdynamic 990pro headphone and monitors. I listen my music in different device, also on the phone and on car audio system. It has to sound great everywhere.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: First of all Mike Dean. I love the Travis Scott's sound. I also like cloud rap/french trap so I love PNL, F430 and the sound they have. Another artist I really like is Lil Wayne because he's eternal.
