I have been working with Bazek for awhile now, and I am so grateful to have such a kind, talented, passionate, and supportive producer by my side. He has helped me immensely; I am newer to the music scene, and he never fails to help me with advice and get my music sounding fantastic. His passion shines through all he makes, and he is one of the only people who I trust producing and mixing my vocals. I cannot wait to keep making music of all different sounds and genres with him for many, many more years!

Interview with Bazek

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One of the projects I am the most proud of was an unreleased song for Ethan Beer. I was newer to production and had never been to a big studio before. I was offered the opportunity, got a flight out to LA for the first time and just did it. For that I am proud.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m currently working on some soft pop projects for clients, as well as guitar sample packs for pop producers.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I can definitely recommend Chris Wright for song writing!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I personally use a combination of both, as I feel they both have solid uses. That being said you can get great results with either!

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise I will listen to your vision, have open communication and deliver a product you will be proud to release.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love the feeling of creating something for a client and seeing the excitement as their vision comes to life. I also love the freedom to do what I love for a living!

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: The biggest things I ask clients are what reference tracks they have, what their budget is and if they have an idea or a demo to work from or are we starting together from scratch.

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: I’d recommend hiring an artists who work with or enjoys music that you want to make, and once you found a provider in your budget and build a working relationship, maintain that relationship!

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: I would bring: a laptop, a pair of DT 1990s, my DAW Cuebase, my Fender Strat, and an Apollo Twin.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I’ve been doing this for almost seven years now. I have never done any other job and this has always been my dream job. I started by just releasing beats on SoundCloud, and once people started to express interest in my skills I never looked back.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: My style is diverse with multiple influences across many genres. I like to use ear candy and ambient elements as well to add detail to a record.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I would love to work with Post Malone as I am a huge fan of his music and his sound.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Arrangement and transitions between song sections are very important to the flow of a song, and can be done creatively to take the track to the next level.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: Most projects I work on are Soft Pop, R&B and hip hop.

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Collaboration with clients.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: I bring a polished sound and creative ideas to help lead clients to their final vision.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: I typically work but building out a chorus, then using those elements to work on the verses, pre choruses and intros. Then I arrange out the song, add ear candy and any other elements to add interest, and finally we mix and master the final record.

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: I run Cuebase off of a Mac Studio. I have various pieces of analogue gear, Native Instruments midi keyboards and drum machines, SSL DAW controllers, and a few Adam Audio monitors.

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: I’m inspired by Lauv, Mike Dean and Kenny Beats, those are my icons!

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: I most commonly work on pop instrumentals and vocal mixing.
