Hi! My name is Sam. I've been a musician my whole life, and out of necessity I've become an engineer as well.
I'm most experienced in tracking and mixing live performances - check out some more of my work here:
https://www.youtube.com/user/FILMSMO2
I tracked and mixed all BUT episodes 1 and 2.
I'm open to all sorts of projects - And willing to negotiate with tight budgets.
I do this because I love music, and my passion for it is what sets me apart.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.
Interview with Sammy 8
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Organize your tracks.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Typically rock based genres, but I'm looking forward to branching out.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Vibe, energy, emotion, and yes, loudness. I also love when I get to add to a song as a musician - bass, guitar, vocals, keys/piano.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'm slower than most, as I also have a day job - 3 days per song is a good reference point.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Highly portable, I'm working in Logic. All digital. Solid selection of microphones - Mostly Shure. I have multiple rooms to record in, but most of my mixing is done at my home.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The beauty of being a sound engineer is that I can listen to any type of music - Even if I'm not a fan of the genre - and still enjoy and learn from the production.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Lately I have been doing lots of live stuff - Tracking and mixing. I've done a couple EPs and currently am working on my own band's full length album.
