Hugo was a pleasure to work with! He did a great job mixing my track even while he was in the process of moving to a new studio. He was very communicative throughout that process, and receptive to my feedback during revisions. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for an engineer with expertise and professionalism.

I thoroughly recommend Hugo. This is the third time I have had the pleasure and good fortune his services, as both long distance and in person mix sessions. He strives to get the results you want, but he also brings his own new energy and life to tracks. Always grateful to him. 5 stars +

Interview with Hugo Nicolson
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started in 1985.... making tea in a studio called the townhouse in london, the rest is way to long to talk about...
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: check the phase of thing as you go listen and see what sounds best
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All sorts over the years but I suppose I am more known for indie projects.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Getting lost in the mix finding the song again and making it shine!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: It changes from project to project, but what I feel my job is, is to make clients happy, and if I can do that it has been a good day :-)
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Setup, Mix, Revisions, that is basically it. I the mix I get a good vibe going pretty quick then tweak it till I feel I can play it to someone else.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: These days it is entirely in the box on Protools 12. It took me a while to go all the way in, but now I am and there is no going back :-) I feel my mixes sound better now than they ever have.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm careful with putting people on pedestals, but I'm a huge fan of Tchad Blakes mixing work!!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing is mostly what I do these days, but occasionally I get asked back into a recording environment to mess around with some fun toys.
