Hey, Im Joseph.
My background in music starts in listening to my mum playing musicals such as Les Miserables and West Side Story, alongside Frank Sinatra and Queen.
After leaving school I attended college where I studied Music Technology. This is where I began producing house, drum and bass and dub music, purely due to the people I was associating with at the time. The course and my own personal research started me on the journey of using the DAW, we were using Studio One at the time.
From there I went onto Bath Spa University to study Commercial Music, this is where I started writing more contemporary pop music and broadening the genres I was listening to. Here I continued to progress my knowledge of Logic Pro and began making post-classical music akin to Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnalds.
This is also where I joined my first band. We played up and down the UK for five years before finally calling it a day. In this time however I mixing and mastered all of our music on Spotify, and grew my knowledge of playing live, which influences the way I can mix a live band.
After leaving university I started my solo project 'Native', which combines all of my influences and production styles. I have written, produced, mixed and mastered an album for release.
