Luke Mitrani on SoundBetter

Male Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer with millions of streams on Spotify. I love to create indie pop, alternative, folk & down tempo music. Have a listen for yourself and if you dig it let’s make some music together!

I'm Luke Mitrani, I have been a touring musician & music producer for 10 years. I have mainly produced music under my own artist name. I like to think of my style as unique & contemporary. I truly enjoy working with other like minded musicians and would love to hear what you’re working on. Whether you need someone to sing vocals, song write, play guitar over your track, or produce your music. I will treat your music as if it's my own because I understand how much it means to get a song done right. I appreciate you checking out my page and if you’re serious about booking please contact me with your song idea first. Thanks!

Just finished mastering an absolutely fantastic mix from Luke! Needless to say, it turned out incredible. It was also analog tape mastered for that fairy dust touch you cannot get any other way. Super pleased with the results, and as always, Luke is the nicest guy around!

Interview with Luke Mitrani

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Every chapter I am proud of, there are highs and lows and everything in between. The life of a musician will always keep you on your toes.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am working on a new E.P at the moment. The music never stops, Stay tuned!

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes, if you would like any recommendations please ask. There are some incredible musicians on this platform!

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I prefer both, I really do love analogue gear but it can get pricy and truly digital can get the job done just as good these days. There are certain analogue items that I do use everyday though still.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I promise to work on your song as if it were my own. That means I will not be able to sleep because I'll be thinking of the next best part for it. I truly will give you my absolute all when you hire me.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love music and being able to do what you love is a blessing that I will never take for granted.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Frequently I am asked to change up lyrics or effects which I am happy to do so. It really depends on the clients needs.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That I am only a vocalist. I also produce & mix my own music.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I want to always make sure I fully understand the vision of the project we will tackle. So I will ask a lot of questions to make sure the job gets done right. For example, do you have any reference tracks? Can I hear some music that inspires you? Can I hear some of your older songs that you would like to share. Anything to give me more feel and direction will always help.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: I would love to work with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros because they seem like a fun band to have fun with in the studio and get creative.

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: Don't be shy to ask any questions. I want you to really love the music we create together so give your input!

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Macbook Pro, Apollo x4 interface, Fender Telecaster & Telefunken Microphone.

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: My brother used to run a music festival which lasted over 10 years. I fell in love with music and became absolutely hooked on it. I started the guitar when I was 12 and have been producing in Ableton for 10 years.

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: I have grown to love all different styles and genres of music. My music style is a reflection of all the music that I have grown with and love. It can feel "groovy" & "eccentric" at times.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: it is hard to share just one specific tip but If I had to choose one it would be to not force the process of creating music.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I am usually working on my own music and am now recently offering my services to any and all artist. I prefer indie pop, down tempo electronic, house & alternative music as that is what I listen to the most.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Ableton Live which is the main software that I use to create all of my music. I like to think of my production style as adding a small universe around your song.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: one word, magic! But really, I will bring feel and emotion into your song. I also love to add catchy melodies that people can't help but sing along too.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I first try my best to understand the direction in which my client is going for. I think it is important for colaberators to reference some songs that inspire you so I have a general feel of what your trying to accomplish. Sometimes I start a song off with a beat but mainly I prefer to have it started with a guitar, synth or piano. In reality though, It all just depends on what flows in the moment. That is when the magic happens.
