Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Giorgia Fumanti and December Rose's next albums. Many single mastering and mixing projects with local and online clients from all over the world

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Both, but mainly digital with an analog education and history in my ears. Been working on analog consoles and multitrack tape machines for decades. I can built the same sound (actually better) with today's digital means, and a bit of high quality analog pieces

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: To do my best to bring their project to a top quality level

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: To me it does not feel like I am working at all (most of the times...)

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: Do I want royalties for my job ? Normally, no

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Classy and punchy, forward thinking but never forgetting the past

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: The fact that I can't provide any promotion activity for your song or project

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I try to let them talk and try to understand what they really want and need

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Be very specific about what you want or let me help you focus on your real goals

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: Neumann U87, Neve 1073, Kurzweil Midiboard, Sennheiser HD600, TC 6000

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: Started more than 35 years ago, from piano (classical conservatory trained) to keyboards to recording equipment to personal home studio to bigger facility

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: Hiromi Uehara, to just do nothing, stay there and enjoy her playing

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Keep in mind at all times all the actors involved, the artist, the songwriter, the song, the label, the market, everyone but then choose yourself

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Pop, hip-hop, crossover, rap, but also edm, dance, jazz, ethnic, classical, RnB

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Psychology

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: A vision, a structure, a sound, a custom made dress for the artist

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: It's a one-room design, with acoustic piano, midi keyboard workstation, room for recording 4-5 players together, and mastering grade monitor system. The ambience is very cozy and warm, flat acoustic response and highly insulated.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: Giorgia Fumanti's "Amour" album, where I was the producer. We went on top of the charts for weeks, which is pretty rare for this type of music (crossover).
