Hey, I'm Mark! Here for all of your production needs - from writing to instrumentation, scoring, mixing, or mastering. I learned the ropes in high-school, releasing two albums before heading to the Shoals to intern with Single Lock Records where I worked as a recording engineer for Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes) and John Paul White (The Civil Wars).

I’m a Canadian that grew up in Prague, Czech Republic, which calls Florence, Alabama, a third home. A devote creative generalist, I love all things music and design. When I'm not working on songs or coding websites you can find me climbing or hiking on the coast of British Columbia.

I release music as Semi Athletic where I write, record, produce, mix, and master the majority of the material. My most recent release “Smoke Alarms (Trampoline Dunk Contests)” began as a short-film concept set in a little mountain town called Hope and a voice memo that said, "I want to play drums in the kitchen again." Both the short film and song are out now!

The debut album, “Fridays I Wear Silk”, was recorded at Portside Sound. Surrounded by spectacular talent, I enlisted the help of some friends including members of Belle Adair, Speckled Bird, and John Paul White, to add their unique voices to the record. The follow-up album, titled, “Try Hard”, will be released in May 2023.
