I've been in the industry for 20 years. I Work for independent artists and major labels. I put my ears before my eyes. Multi nominated and awarded for several albums.
My place is a tailored hybrid studio with a rupert neve console and some really nice outboard, combined with the power of UAD plugins and others.
I offer a variety of services:
Mixing:
I think Hybrid mixing its the way to go, I choose that workflow for my tracks and others. Its key to put attention to details and take the music where its meant to be taken without compromising.
Stereo Analog Mastering:
I'll take your stereo mix and process it with analog gear to remove all harshness, tame annoying frequencies, balance the tone, control the low-end, fix muddy frequencies, glue music together, raise the level and get it ready for digital distribution.
Stem mastering:
I gather together all the stems + the stereo mix and use the channels of the neve and my analog outboard to mix balance and give color/ flavor to the audio. And then I master all the songs for digital distribution.
Atmos Mastering
I Work with your stems into making your Atmos Master adaptation for immersive experience and playlisting opportunities.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Nacho de la Riega
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Loli Molina 's Rubi is one of the finest albums I recorded and Produced. It was her third album, but we felt as it was the debut album. it was a magical process and I feel it all got into the vibe of those songs.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I have several ongoing albums, but Im about to release and album from Fede Petro that Im quite proud of.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Im new on the platform, hopefully I will be able soon.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid ! no question. Digital for the flexibility and the recall possibilities and analog, for the sound!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I'll put the music first.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: the feeling that music is endless and that after so manny years, Im still amazed and thrill about it.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: I have a faulty mix, Can you fix it on the mastering ? I rather have a great mix and make an even greater master out of it.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That since I do jazz a lot, I can't do Dance and Ambient music as good or the other way around.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: All the necessary that give me a clear path to follow.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to music I ve done in the past, is the best way to get to know an engineer.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: EMI Curve Bender would be my n1. Follow by a neve console. A Telefunken u47 mic, a Zener Limiter and a FATSO
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started as an assistant in the days we used tape machines. In my early twenties I started recording that led to producing a few years later. Being in every part of the chain, makes you understand each part and each role a whole lot better.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A Very patient one.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: wow ... hard to say, since they are several ! As of today, I would say Phoebe Bridgers and Rebecca Martin.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: ears first, eyes second.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work with singer/ songwriters to make albums, Jazz bands to do live sessions and all kinds of music to mix and master their songs.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Fast and accurate diagnostic on how we can make a track better.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Well it depends on the song and Genre. But the common factor is : make a GREAT listening experience that moves you.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I don't have a "typical " work process. It depends a LOT on the material. That's the nice thing about music and studio life...you don't get the same every day.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run a hybrid setup. I mix in pro tools using UAD plug ins on " each channel " basis. All my channels go to a Rupert Neve console, where I insert analog gear on the sub and main mix. The return then is recorded back on pro tools. I generally use a Curve Bender and an SSL G master bus comp on the Master Insert, and Avalon Eqs, Manley and other gear on the sub groups. To record Im pretty straight forward, I have API, Neve, Avalon and Chandler pre amps that go to my Apollo.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A hole bunch really. From Tony Benett to spanish revolutionary Rosalia...I found inspiration in many many places. Music is endless, and that Its profoundly inspiring.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record mix and master music. But These days I have at least one Stem Mastering session per week.
