One of the best things about working with Robert is how he listens to ideas, and is not afraid to let his creativity work it's way into the production. He works on the song, as if it was his own. Can't ask for much more. Check him out....great guy to work with.

I recently used I.T.B. Audio Solutions for some vocal tuning and it could not have gone better. Very easy to work with and the job was completed ahead of schedule. The funding was also very reasonable.

Interview with I.T.B Audio Solutions

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Currently working on some classic rock, Americana, and Contemporary Christian music with folks from Spain, Germany, and the U.S.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: What type of sound are you looking for? What instruments, or vocals need to be showcased? Is there any type of specific special effects (FX) wanted? What is your turn-around time? Do you have a reference track? Have all your tracks for your song been completed? Or, are you building as you go?

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Be clear on your vision...convey to your audio solution provider the sound you're looking for, and if possible provide a reference track. I.T.B Audio Solutions believes that clear communication between us and our clients makes or breaks the experience.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: My PC, guitar, digital interface, microphone, and midi keyboard

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: Career path was: Musician, Computer Analyst/Musician, Audio Engineer. I have well over 15+ years as an Audio Engineer. And 50 years as a musician. The hair is gray....the ears have been fine tuned! :-)

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: I would like to work with Bruno Mars...solid vocals...great vibe...overall outstanding artist.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: I have worked on all genres. From two track acoustic sets, to 62 track productions, I am able to meet the needs of my clients in multiple fronts. From EDM, to Contemporary Christian, to Classic Rock, to Jazz, Hip Hop, and RAP.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: My strongest skill is my ability to take the approach that my clients perspective is the most important perspective. I am hired to help them achieve their vision for a song...not mine! Music is so subjective and therefore, the client's viewpoint is the one that counts!

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: A personal computer IS the Studio! My PC has an 8 core chip, with over 32 Gig of RAM...more horsepower...less latency.

  19. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  20. A: Digital is what I.T.B Audio Solutions is all about. I can fit a warehouse full of equipment in a computer. Going digital allows one to work across the globe, no longer confined to geographic location.

  21. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  22. A: Quality service, excellent communication, and most important in today's world...honesty.

  23. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  24. A: I love the diversity of music

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Having a great song starts at the recording level, spend the time in the studio, to get a solid track. Then from there build upon it at the mixing stage. Most songs end up sounding too squashed, dull, and lifeless at the mastering stage due to a "poor" mix which, with a well recorded session....shouldn't happen.

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: A decade worth of experience in mixing and mastering, as well as over 50 years as a musician.

  29. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  30. A: I love all genres of music, it's about the "sound" more than the music...is there balance in the mix? How do all the instruments "fit" together??? Do they fight for dominance??? Or do they take their natural place??? IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SOUND!"

  31. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  32. A: Most common type of work is Mixing, Mastering, and Vocal Pitch Correction. Typical mixing work involves the mixing of 25 to 40 audio tracks. Typical Mastering involves mastering 1 song for upload to iTunes, SoundCloud, ReverbNation, or a label demo...to a full album. I work with Studios as well as independent musicians.
