Josh really outdid him self on this track! We had a Country-Rock project that really needed a pro’s touch to get the massive experience we were going for! I can’t even begin to describe how incredible the project became after Josh worked his magic! The guy is a real pro at what he does, and he continues to blow us away!

You will not go wrong working with Josh!! We had a full project mixed by various engineers and his mixes to me were my favorite, the thing with Josh is he doesn't stop at just mixing a song, he treats it as if it's his own, which I feel every creator wants that security in whoever touches there work, his skills are also amazing, you won't go wrong!!!

This is our second time using Josh for a project and he killed it! Out of everybody we have worked with on this platform, I can say with complete confidence that he is the most professional and talented engineer that you are going to find! He doesn’t disappoint, period. That’s not an exaggeration, just go listen to anything he’s worked on and you’ll see!

I worked with Josh again to get an acoustic version of my song. The mix sounds amazing and definitely has a competitive, radio ready quality to it -- all delivered with utmost professionalism and timeliness. I HIGHLY recommend Josh's services for all your pop needs!

Josh was amazing to work with, not only was the price respectable. So was the way he took it upon himself to do more with the track and sending several versions for radio and TV. I'd really recommend him if you're trying to grow with someone.

Josh, is an excellent mixing engineer and even better human. He took the song I produced and made it 10x better. I will most definitely be working with him again.
I you need a song mixed, work with Josh. You WILL NOT regret it! - check_circleVerified
Working with Josh has been a true joy! His first mix was already 98%, and he went the extra mile to tweak it beyond our expectations. He's got a super clean, yet very organic and warm feel to his mix. You can easily tell that Josh is not just a great sound engineer, but also a talented musician; those are the only producers I really want to work with to be honest. Back and forward with feedback was super smooth, no issues at all.
We could could not have been happier with the end result!

Interview with Sudds Studios | Josh Sudduth
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Eric Mulder (Acoustic Guitar), Reed Pittman (Keys), Patrick Kiloran (beats), Ivana Marie (alt pop or rock female vocals)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I like both. I currently work out of my home completely "in the box". But I've used analog gear in studios too. They are tools. As long as the finished product is good, none of that matters.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The most common question is how fast my turn around time is. It's usually 2-4 work days for mixes and 1-2 weeks for production- this is for the first draft of whatever we are working on. Finishing projects is totally up to the clients and how fast they get me their revisions.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I don't really have a dream "celeb" artist that I wish to work with, but I do have an ideal artist personality. Artists that are open to try things, have direction for their artistry and know how to enjoy the process are usually the most fun to work with. Being nice people helps too lol
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1. You agree to my proposal // I schedule the day I start your project 2. I send you a mix 1 or a rough of you song production 3. You either leave revision notes or we move forward to exporting your receivables. 4. You call the project finished and we both leave reviews!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Max Martin, Ryan Tedder, Charlie Puth etc...
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it’s easily replicated.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I’d say because I grew up with my mother loving literally every genre she heard from classical to screamo, I think have a well rounded but unique sense of where I'd like to take a song. I'm a emotional guy and I want the music I produce to convey the appropriate emotions.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to their examples. You should love what they do before talking to them. It makes the process so much easier on both ends. A producer/mixer/mastering engineers sound won't change for your project no matter how many revisions.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I feel like I've always had a knack for good vocal production. It's certainly one of my favorite parts of a project.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My first full album that I wrote and produced was with a songwriter name Abigail Grace. I learned so much about the process and I think you can tell a huge difference between her two EPs. She came to me with her songs and an acoustic guitar and allowed me to make them into something more. I believe her project is what threw me into being the type of producer/songwriter and mixer I am today!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I've got several projects in the works currently but I just recently had a song go #1 on Radio Disney and another hit 40 on European charts.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Guitar, backpack w/laptop/solar power charger??, and my wife.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of sound are you looking for? Do you have references? Whats your deadline? Do you want it shaken or stirred?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was always experimenting with recording when I was in high school. I started recording my own bands then other bands started asking me to record them. So about 11 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean and punchy.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Google and youtube are your friends. I'm completely self-taught.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly pop, rock, singer-songwriter, CCM, and country.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use Logic X, UA Apollo 8p and JBL Monitors. It's all I need.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I produce songs for songwriters and artists and some bands. I typically do all the music myself and eliminate the need for studio musicians.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The project isn't done until they are 100% happy. I don't settle for "good enough"
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to make music and new friends!
